The Diploma Programme in Project Management at DARA Institute is a 4-month course (approximately 16 weeks) designed to equip government staff, NGO professionals, graduates, and development practitioners with practical skills to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate projects in both development and humanitarian contexts. The programme builds competencies in project design, budgeting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and monitoring and evaluation using results-based and context-specific approaches suitable for fragile settings. Delivered through a blended learning model combining classroom training, practical exercises, field-based learning, and mentorship, it is facilitated by highly experienced experts in humanitarian and development project management, including those with experience in World Bank–financed projects. The course emphasizes hands-on learning, use of digital tools and project management software as well as tools like KoboToolbox and supports participants to develop real project proposals. Overall, it prepares participants to manage projects effectively, improve accountability, and enhance career opportunities.

The programme builds competencies in key areas such as maternal, infant, and young child nutrition (MIYCN), management of acute malnutrition (CMAM), food security, dietary assessment, and integration of nutrition into primary health care and community-based programmes. It emphasizes hands-on application, use of nutrition assessment and monitoring tools, and real-world problem solving, ultimately preparing participants to strengthen food and nutrition systems and improve health and nutrition outcomes in vulnerable and resource-constrained settings.
