Our The Proposal Development Course for Humanitarian and Development Programmes at DARA Institute is a short, practical course designed to equip government staff, NGO professionals, programme officers, and consultants with the skills to design and write high-quality, competitive proposals for donors. The course builds competencies in problem analysis, needs assessment, project design, logframe development, results-based frameworks, budgeting, and aligning proposals with donor requirements and priorities. Delivered through a hands-on approach combining interactive sessions, real proposal reviews, group work, and mentorship, it is facilitated by experienced professionals with backgrounds in UN agencies, international NGOs, and World Bank–funded programmes. Participants will learn how to develop concept notes, full proposals, and technical narratives, while using tools such as logframes, theory of change, and budgeting templates. The course emphasizes practical application, with participants developing their own proposals during the training, ultimately enabling them to secure funding, improve programme design, and enhance organizational competitiveness in humanitarian and development sectors.
