From First Search to Final Publication — A Complete Research Journey
Beginning to Advanced Social Science Research is a structured, practice oriented programme that takes participants from the first steps of academic research through to journal publication. It provides a single coherent pathway covering literature searching, problem formulation, research design, sampling, data collection, qualitative and quantitative analysis, scientific writing, and publication.
The course is built around thirty lectures delivered over fifteen weeks, at two sessions each week. Each lecture combines conceptual grounding with applied demonstration, so that participants learn the reasoning behind each methodological decision as well as the software skills required to carry it out. Training covers Zotero for reference management, Google Forms and KoboToolbox for digital data collection, NVivo for qualitative coding, and SPSS for descriptive, inferential, and regression analysis.
Responsible use of artificial intelligence is treated as a dedicated subject rather than an incidental topic. Participants learn where artificial intelligence genuinely supports research work, how to verify AI generated claims and citations, and what disclosure and authorship obligations apply under current institutional and journal policies.
The programme concludes with an integrated research project or article plan, prepared and presented by the participant using the methods taught throughout the course.
